Outreach
Individual Support, Collective Empowerment
Our Community Outreach programme is central to IWN’s mission: to connect, inspire, and empower women—particularly those from minoritised backgrounds—through socially and culturally responsive support. We meet women where they are—physically, emotionally, and socially—to ensure no one is left behind.
Our Outreach Workers play a vital role in:
-
Building relationships with women who may be isolated, marginalised, or facing complex challenges (e.g., racism, discrimination, domestic violence, mental health issues, financial hardship).
-
Providing one-to-one advocacy and support.
-
Offering information, signposting, and emotional support.
-
Ensuring women feel seen, heard, and empowered.
Depending on the need, outreach may involve community visits, home visits, virtual meets, referrals, follow-ups, or hosting small engagement sessions.

Advocacy
Ensuring that All Voices are Heard
IWN offers a free, independent, confidential advocacy service for women and girls in Cornwall. Our advocate will listen to your wishes, concerns, and views—making sure your voice is heard and respected. We provide a non-judgmental, culturally sensitive service and will always respect your choices.

One-to-One Support
Listening, Understanding, and Standing With You
One-to-one support means having someone by your side who listens, understands, and helps you with what matters most to you. It’s a safe and confidential space where you can share your concerns, explore options, and get both practical and emotional support. Whether it’s housing, finances, education, work, wellbeing, or simply needing someone to stand with you, our support is guided by your choices and at your pace.
