The Travelling Teapot
Remembering the power a cup of Tea can hold in transforming individuals to friends, from people to community, from feeling alone, to feeling you belong.
The Travelling Teapot is a monthly community gathering where we share Tea practices from around the world. Tea has always been synonymous with hospitality, and here we welcome a space where our unique and rich diversity of cultures can be shared and celebrated with others, bringing in stories, snacks, rituals and traditions so we can build curiosity, understanding and belonging together.
Each month, we travel to a different location in Cornwall, making it easier for women across the county to come together and learn about the many diverse ways in which cultures around the world share their Tea.
Why The Travelling Teapot
Living in a rural county can sometimes feel isolating, particularly for women from ethnically diverse backgrounds. The Travelling Teapot hopes to cultivate belonging, reduce isolation, and nurture wellbeing through the simple act of gathering together with Tea. .
At each gathering, a different woman in the community will be invited to share tea in a way that reflects her culture, heritage or personal story, offering everyone the chance to experience different traditions, flavours and conversations from around the world.

Who Can Attend?
All women are welcome to attend! While we will invite women who are ethnically minoritised to share Tea from their traditions, we invite all women of Cornwall to be part of this celebration of diversity through Tea, where women understand, inspire and encourage one another.
Our dream is that The Travelling Teapot is more than a monthly gathering; it is a growing community built on curiosity, community & belonging through the timeless practice of Tea bringing people together.
Please register your attendance as spaces will be limited depending on the venue.
Travelling Across Cornwall
The Travelling Teapot moves between towns and communities throughout Cornwall each month, helping to reach women wherever they live.
By travelling, we celebrate the diversity of Cornwall itself while ensuring that connection and community are accessible to more women across the county.
Each venue is carefully chosen to be welcoming, accessible and easy to reach where possible.

Meet Jasmine
Jasmine is one of IWN's Community Development Officers and the woman behind the Travelling Teapot.
Having moved from Hong Kong, Jasmine knows something about making a new place feel like home. Tea, and the teaware she brought with her, became one of those small, familiar things that travelled with her.
She loves the stories that sit behind everyday traditions: how we make tea, who we drink it with, what we offer when someone comes to our home, and the memories wrapped up in all of it.
Through the Travelling Teapot, Jasmine will help women across Cornwall share those stories and discover each other's cultures, experiences, and traditions, one cup of tea at a time.
